The Multifunction Display
Furuno elevates marine touch screen technology to a whole new level
with the industry’s first multi touch display. The Furuno
TZT9 NavNet TZtouch 9” Multifunction Display comes with
an anti-reflective glass coating that makes the screen sunlight
viewable and polarised friendly.
TZtouch brings you pinch-to-zoom capability as well as multi-touch
features gestures for the most intuitive navigation experience.
Furuno’s TimeZero technology delivers chart processing like no
other – seamless chart handling, zooming and panning without the
screen disappearing. It redefines the meaning of stress-free
operation by smoothing out your chart handling actions. What’s
more, the TZtouch multifunction display also has the ability to
interface with Apple iPads, iPhones and iPod touch giving you the
ability to wirelessly and conveniently view and control your
TZT9.
Bird mode, track birds to find the best fishing
grounds
DRS6A X-Class/DRS4D-NXT features a new bird mode that helps you
identify birds congregating around schools of fish at the sea
surface. Bird mode works by adjusting the gain and sea settings
automatically for optimal visibility.
Target Analyser function utilising Doppler technology spots
hazardous targets instantly with DRS4D-NXT
The DRS4D-NXT Solid-State Doppler Radar is the first Radar in the
world to use the new FURUNO exclusive Target Analyser function.
Targets that are approaching your vessel automatically change
colour to help you identify when they are hazardous. Green echoes
are targets that stay stationary or are moving away from you, while
red echoes are hazardous targets that are moving towards your
vessel.
The GPS Receiver
The Furuno GP-330B GPS/WAAS Receiver Antenna is a
high performance GPS Receiver designed for any type of vessel. This
compact and cost effective receiver offers accurate position fixes
within 3 metres with the WAAS mode activated. The GP-330B is
capable of data output in CAN bus/NMEA2000 format, making it an
ideal GPS sensor for use with NavNet 3D systems. The sensor comes
with all of the hardware required for deck- or mast-mounting
solutions. A 6-metre cable with NMEA2000 connector is supplied as
standard.
The Sounder Module
The Furuno BBDS1 Bottom Discrimination Sounder is
a new network fishfinder for NavNet 3D and NavNet TZtouch that
features an all new bottom discrimination function, as well as the
FDF (Furuno Digital Filter) capability of the DFF1. The BBDS1
determines the bottom structure and separates them into the
following categories: mud, sand, gravel and rock. This is achieved
by analysing echo characteristics from the bottom components such
as particle size and hardness.
Connect the BBDS1 to your NavNet 3D or NavNet TZtouch network and
get ready for your NavNet system to provide you with valuable
information to locate rich fishing grounds, boosting your
catch.
Choose between 2 Bottom Discrimination Display Modes
There are two bottom discrimination display modes to select from,
Standard Mode and Probability Mode. In Standard Mode, the most
probable materials on the bottom (mud, sand, gravel or rock) are
indicated in either graphic mode or a 4-colour bar on the bottom of
the display.
Because bottom material can change frequently and can sometimes be
difficult to identify, Probability Mode shows you what material the
bottom has the greatest chance of consisting of by displaying the
possible bottom materials proportionally within the 4-colour
bar.

- Detection range: 5-100 m
- Boat speed: 0-10 kn
- Transducer mounting: Thru-hull or transom mount only
- MFD8/12/BB software: v2.06 or later
Notes:
- The result shown by this function may sometimes be
different from the actual bottom components. - For best performance, do not use in-hull mounted
transducers with the BBDS1. - The BBDS1 may show an incorrect ground discrimination
result, especially when there is a big fish school right under the
boat. This is because enough echoes may not be received from the
bottom. - Materials such as shell, coral, or a sunken ship are
indicated as the most similar material from the four bottom
categories: mud, sand, gravel, or rock, according to reflected
echoes. - Auto mode is automatically activated when the bottom
discrimination function is turned on. (Manual mode is not
selectable.) - The BBDS1 is not compatible with NavNet 1 or NavNet
vx2. - Use appropriate Furuno Transducer recommended for best
results
